In June this year, the Russian lessor Avia Capital Services sold to VTB Leasing company a contract for the delivery of 50 Boeing 737NG narrowbody airliners to Aeroflot. General Director Roman Pakhomov told Show Observer about the company’s future strategy and possible new customers.

— Are you planning to expand your orderbook now that you have sold the Boeing 737NG contract?
— Please don’t forget that the company still has contracts for 35 Boeing 737MAX aircraft and 85 Irkut MC-21 airliners. There are fairly many new aircraft on the Russian medium-haul market as it is. Therefore, we will now look abroad for customers; we are primarily interested in the CIS market. Airlines there resemble Russian carriers in certain aspects. I would hate to disclose any details at this point. Let me just say that we are planning to enter that market with aircraft types that are of interest to potential customers. These could be Boeing 737NGs or Airbus A320s.
